In our brief history, Tope Con Coolio has brought you such classy gala events as Dragon Aid 2009 and An Evening with Claudio Castagnoli. To celebrate our upcoming 21st episode, TCC will be giving back to you, our male demographic of dorky ass wrestling fans, with a chance to woo your way into the heart of a very special lady. In this week's edition of Tope Con Coolio, we will be officially announcing the start of our Win A Date With Stephanie contest! Details are already up at Topeconcoolio.com, but we won't be accepting your submission to have a shot at courting young Steph until after Episode 19 comes to an end. Let's consider this her coming out party! Steph will go more into detail about what she's looking for in a guy both in this episode and through a series of blogs, the first of which has already been posted on Topeconcoolio.com.

There's 2 days until the official on air announcement of Win a Date with Stephanie. But before we announce it on the air, I wanted to give you guys an idea of what I'm looking for in a companion. That way you'll be prepared to submit an application as soon as the show is over on Thursday!! Pretty much, first and foremost, a guy I'm interested in must have a sense of humor. If you can't make me laugh, forget it! But that person also needs to know how and when to be serious when the situation calls for it. I'm looking for someone who is caring and considerate. I don't like men who are cocky. Arrogance is such a turn off for me. I dig dorky guys over any other guys. And I like guys who have a strong appreciation for music. I'm not a uber romantic, so I'm not really into the gushy stuff. A few sweet gestures are fine, but like, jacket on the sidewalk? That's a little too much for me. Though, a guy that'll cook me dinner is perfect =]. I'm also looking for someone that's adventurous, that likes to go out and do fun things like bowling and karaoke!! So get creative when you send in your applications, I'm looking forward to the 21st!

Tope Con Coolio presents: WIN A DATE WITH STEPHANIE!

Tope Con Coolio is coming up on our 21st episode, and for some reason, we're considering this a milestone. Maybe because Ben Pasco's coming up on his 21st. Maybe its cause we all might drink during this episode. Maybe it's because we've got fucked up priorities. Anyway, we decided we wanted to give back to the awesome fans of this podcast while at the same time, getting new listeners to join the gang of dorks that listen to our show every week. Then, Ben Pasco, in the midst of eating a Fenway Frank had a flash of genius that still horrifies us to this day. The five words that will likely haunt us for weeks and months to come:

"Win a date with Stephanie"

Ben pitched it to the rest of us, and Bryan and I decided "Hells yea!" Steph just gave us awkward glances, then realized that this could be advantageous. After all, she does like boys and she does like wrestling. So a wrestling fan is totally not out of the question for someone she would date! And who makes up the majority of our fanbase? Thats right! Male wrestling fans!

So we all agreed that we would prepare for this over the course of the next few weeks. Win A Date With Stephanie will take place during our 21st episode, which will be June 11th. Steph will choose from 3 lucky bachelors, and she will have no knowledge of who the bachelors are. We plan to run this much like the classic game show "The Dating Game" in that Steph will get to ask her mystery bachelors a series of questions before choosing the lucky winner.

I'm sure you're wondering: How do I become one of the lucky bachelors? It's quite simple. We ask that you send a one minute audio submission in an email to topeconcoolio@gmail.com explaining why you think you would be a good match for Stephanie. If you can't record audio, we will accept a written entry 300 words or less. But an audio submission will earn your brownie points. We also ask that you include your name, age, hometown, and favorite wrestler. (Hint: Stephanie LOVES Claudio Castagnoli) From those entries, Ben, Ben and Bryan will choose the 3 bachelors we think Steph would like the most, and from there it's on to the show!

We will begin accepting submissions immediately after Episode 19 ends this Thursday evening. Anything recieved before then will be deleted, so hold your horses, fellas. In the next couple of weeks, Steph will post a series of blogs right here at Topeconcoolio.com to give the fellas a better idea of what she's looking for in a man. Could you be that man? You'll never know unless you participate in Tope Con Coolio's "WIN A DATE WITH STEPHANIE!" contest!

Hey fans, you heard it here! After much discussion we at TCC have decided to have a "Win a Date with Stephanie" episode! We're teasing it here now, just so people are aware and get prepared. We will soon be looking for applicants for a "Dating Game" style dating show. Requirements will be posted soon after some discussion. We are hoping to air this anytime from the 21st to the 25th episode, we're hoping for the 21st so the sooner the reply the better!! And the prize is the best of all... ME! Just so you know, I will have no inclusion in picking the 3 people that will be on the show, so make sure you impress the boys. The final 3 contestants are going to be completely annonymous to me. We celebrate our 18th episode (slow down, thats 18 weeks not years) with a special fill in guest. Steph's First Blog. Awesome.

Hey everyone. This will probably be short and weird, because it's one o'clock in the morning and I haven't posted a blog before. We have a great show planned tomorrow/today! Unfortunately, Ben P will not be joining us, but we will be joined by Mary Kate which means the shows theme will be... [drum roll please]... 2 Girls, 1 Coolio. I know, so topical and current events, it hurts.

I finally downloaded the pic withs from the ROH show in Boston that we discussed on the last podcast. Whilst doing so, I realized two things. One: I am insanely close to being taller than Grizzly Redwood [Note: I'm 5'3, it's a miracle if I find a male I'm as tall as, let alone taller than them]. And two: His beard is so intense, there must be birds building a nest in there. A friend of mine and of the show also pointed out that Grizzly had earbuds in his ears, prompting the question "What does Grizzly listen to?" Comment here if you have an opinion.

BLOG: Ben G discusses Ric Flair & Jerry Lynn gets no respect

So it's a few hours before our show tonight, and I felt like I should give the people that ACTUALLY come to this site (thank you for that btw) something exclusive, so I've decided to post the first of what I hope to be many blogs on this site. You'll see blogs from myself, Ben Pasco, Steph & Bryan, along with anyone else we want, cause well, we can.

I just read an interview that Alex Marvez conducted with ROH Ambassador and the only man to make me cry at a wrestling show, Ric Flair, regarding contemplating a return to actually wrestling. He claims he can still do better in the ringthan "90%" of the guys in WWE (Raw and ECW, yes. Smackdown, probably not.) I guess if Terry Funk can have a bakers dozen retirements, then why can't the greatest world champion of all time?

Because it would RUIN EVERYTHING!

Ric Flair is sixty years old. SIXTY. Six Zero. Just like most guys that love the business though, Ric has the sickness. And he likely will let his love for money and the spotlight to coerce him back into the squared circle. I would probably take up some of those big money offers he's getting to wrestle if I were in his shoes, but for a man who takes so much pride in his legacy and the fans that believe in his legacy, it just seems like a waste to lace up the boots, even for a huge payday, to have his last match be against Joe Blow in a high school gym in Charlotte or Adolf Von Erich in a bar in Germany instead of against Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 24. Because even though it wouldn't shock me, I doubt Vince put him back on the roster full time at Ric's age. Ultimately though, Ric Flair's a dude with bills and a family just like the rest of us, and he's gotta do what's in his head and his heart. And if there's more money in stepping in the ring one or two or fifteen more times, then thats what hes going to wind up doing.


Gonna go prep for the show. Before I go, though,here's a picture from the ROH show in Boston. You'll notice everybody high fiving ROH World Champ Jerry Lynn except two people. Who, you might ask?

Thats right. Steph and Ben Pasco. At least they're consistent.
